Amazon India is looking for an insightful, results-oriented business analyst to deliver and drive analysis to answer complex business questions. 

The mission is to make Amazon the safest place to shop online. The team safeguards the order pipelines, monitoring, tracking, and managing risk to ensure long-term buyer satisfaction. We group designs and build the software systems, risk models, and operational processes that minimize risk and maximize trust in Amazon. We protect all the aspects of the Amazon shopping experience while delivering our services to small & large merchants hosted on the Amazon platform. You will evaluate new business opportunities from across the company to minimize the risk associated with these launches.

As a Business Analyst at Amazon, you are responsible for building a robust set of operational & business metrics, working with multi-disciplined teams to design, build, and deploy the reporting systems, and using metrics to determine improvement opportunities. Roles and Responsibilities

Here are the roles and responsibilities of the business analyst at Amazon.

  • Own, develop, and maintain metrics allowing more granular explanations of Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly Business report trends and driving the prioritization of Quality/Cost Improvements projects and forecasts of Operational Metrics. 
     
  • Make regular reports and analyses, write systems queries to gather data from multiple sources, and compile it into an understandable and actionable format. Perform data mining and analysis using MS Excel, OBIEE, MySQLSQL, Oracle BI, and Cognos to identify trends, develop forecasts, and identify cost savings and quality improvement opportunities.
     
  • Drive LEAN efforts by leading Six-Sigma & Kaizen projects in relevant operational areas.
     
  • Work with Finance and Operation Management to forecast and develop operational targets. 
     
  • Designing new metrics and enhancing existing metrics to support the future state of business processes and ensure sustainability.
     
  • Collaborate with Operations & Engineering Managers and other Operations teams to implement solutions that enrich customer experience. 
     
  • Track project issues, concerns, deliverables, and acceptance criteria; Act as an intermediate between Transportation/Operations leadership/business teams and engineering teams.
     
  • Analyzing and solving business problems focuses on understanding root causes and driving forward-looking opportunities.
     
  • Communicating complex analysis and insights to stakeholders and business leaders, both verbally and in writing.
     
  • Deep dive and acquire an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices and apply them when solving business problems.
     
  • Participate in industry and other professional networks to ensure awareness of industry standards, trends, and best practices to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge.
     

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in financial/business analysis.
     
  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights.
     
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field required.
     
  • 2+ years of professional experience with analytics, business analysis, or equivalent consumer analytics position.
     
  • Advanced working knowledge of data analysis, data mining using SQL, ETL, data warehouse, and Microsoft Excel.
     
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and executing presentations of technical and business-level data.
     
  • Proven problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and outstanding organizational skills.
     
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity & competing objectives in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA preferred
     
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a data analyst/business analyst/statistical analysis role.
     
  • Understanding of data warehousing, data modeling concepts, and building new DW tables.
     
  • Operational solid business understanding, including the potential impact of business decisions on various internal/external stakeholders.

Salary Bracket
